This list presents the bird species of Hungary and the Western Palearctic includig some important subspecies. The English and scientific names and the position of the taxa are based on the list of www.worldbirdnames.org (Gill F, D Donsker & P Rasmussen (Eds). 2020. IOC World Bird List (v10.2). doi: 10.14344/ IOC.ML.10.2.) and the Western Palearctic List of www.bubo.org.
After logging in, you can find all the pictures of each species, all observation data of the hungarian species and some uploading statistics.
For each month we use color markings to classificate the status of the species which appeared in Hungary. Dark green for rare birds, pale green for interesting species, white for common birds.
All classifications of the gallery and of the observations are created by the administrators of birding.hu with the help of field ornithologists. The work with updating is running continously, altough it is possible that some classifications are not perfecly correct.
